    Automatic Tailgate

    Hi Guys,

I have seen a few youtube videos showing an automatic tailgate on the 6R:

I want to get this done, I found this video:

Does anyone know if it would be similar? It would finally give the boot release button a proper purpose!

    Thanks!

Hold the boot release button on the key-fob.
If you are able to pull the boot up without pressing the button in the hatch it should be doable.

It is not possible on the tiguan as it has a second catch which requires you to press a button in the boot handle to relase it.
Assumably this is to stop the boot flying open by accident when driving.

The boot struts won't let it swing open.
You have to unscrew and spin the support 180 degrees so that it will open the boot upon popping.

The polo may not have powerful enough struts to open it however, that is why the mk6 guys overseas have used the skoda struts.

I tried just spinning the gas struts around, didn't work. I didn't spin the part around that is held in with the TORX screws though because it was on so tight I couldn't get it off!
