Has anyone had issues with the automatic wipers on their VW? The rear wiper on my Polo is stuck on and even though I have turned it off it still comes on. Even on a cloudless day in summer.

Are you sure the wiper handle isn't one click towards the engine? That's the position for the interval rear wiper.

And don't forget that if your front wipers are on (in any setting) the rear wiper will wipe once when the car is put in reverse.

Some cars do not have the rain sensor (like mine) and will still do it. That's why I said any position. (Auto or standard intermittent) or medium or full.

My 12.5 gti didn't do the rear wipe when put in reverse while front wipers are going from The factory. I had to set it with my VAGCOM cable.

Interesting my MY11 Did it from day 1...doesn't seem like something they would de-activate in subsequent models

It's called substandard programming at the dealer level, like my car with mental Climatronic when I picked it up...

...and the completely non-functioning auto wipers on mine when it was picked up, they just acted like the normal wipers and I had to go to the dealer twice to get them fixed
