Putting it on fresh will clear the condensation. Explains why recirc doesn't work with the demister.
The A/C doesn't work when the car shuts off, only the fan stays on.
Hi guys,
I got a new Polo last week and one thing that I have noticed is that the car gets foggy really quickly. Have the AC on to get rid of the fogging, however once the stop-start feature engages, the car fogs up almost instantly. Does anyone else experience this as well?
(This is in regards to the front windscreen in particular, and yes, the flow of the air is to the windscreen*)
AC will be on 3 or 4 and only uses the air from inside.
Thanks

If the aircon is in the demist position it will be blowing cold air onto the windscreen and in turn cooling the glass. If the engine stops the compressor stops turning and the fan will continue blowing warm moist air from outside the car onto the cold glass which will immediately start to mist up. Think of the outside of a glass of cold water, beer etc on a hot humid day. Having the aircon blowing through the vents will demist the screen just as fast as when it is on the screen but when the compressor stops the screen won't mist up anywhere near as quickly because the air isn't going directly onto the cold windscreen.
