Hi Tim!
Thanks for your input, so are you saying that if people have the car after warranty (3 years i believe) and their car is healthy, that a GIAC tune is stable and runs fine on 6R Polo GTI's without issues etc?
Just to clear up any confusion in regards to GIAC "issues".
Its not that there are problems with the tune its that due to the ongoing warranty concerns that many people have had with this engine/gearbox combination most GIAC dealers are turning customers away.
The last thing we want to do is get in the middle of someones warranty dispute just to make a few dollars.
If youre desperate to get the car tuned then I would probably go with APR. They have invested the most in this platform locally.

Could do the 7 day trial. That's what I'm considering.

You mean 6 hour trial?
If you get the trial for the APR tune, you will not want to go back to stock. Its worth it. I'm not sure about the other tuners but I hear Viezu is just as good as APR (someone with a Viezu tune feel free to chime in)
There are numerous people on here that have the APR & Viezu tune that could attest to the fact it is worth it. In terms of failures, these tunes are made so that it works on stock components and works within the tolerances of the parts so nothing will be working out of the ordinary. If something were to malfunction, there is a very small chance it would be due to the tune.
I just got a APR tune and I must be the only one that hasn't notice much difference but that's getting of the path and a different story.
I pretty sure the APR trial is only for tunes throught the OBD port (thats whats mentioned on there website) which you can't do with the polo as it needs to be bench tuned.
If you go APR and want the ability to erase codes (which is one of the features) you need to ask as its a seperate upload to the tune.
Which I didn't find out untill after it was done.
Also if you want a certine code for locking feature let them know or you will get whatever they chose as its not a random number it's what the tuner puts in.
