Yes... or looking at it another way, you're getting Ford Focus RS performance, but from a "nicer finished car" for 2/3 of the price (that's after the APR "handling" and "performance" packages).
It's an impressive article.
There is a comparo of modified cars in this month's Motor Mag (Jun)
APR supplied their Polo GTI and GOlf GTI.
Laptimes of the Polo are impressive.
Essentially you are getting a Focus RS performance car from a 1.4L engine

I am trying very hard not to mod the bejesus out the polo.
Don't think i can hold back any longer.. looking forward to the read.
Read the article and well done, great effort.
Yeah ditto on the article, well done Guy, very impressive and well presented. When will you be publishing ECU stage 1 pricing?
2011 POLO GTI 3dr, Candy White, Audio-Comfort-Xenon PacksMODS: H&R Sport Springs - Bilstein B12s - Whiteline Sway Bar - Milltek Cat Back Exhaust - Sparco Assetto Gara Wheels
I love everything about Guy's PoGo, with the exception of the tyre scrapping.
Yeah, I'd be interested to know more about the scraping comment. Guy?
The tyre issue was we could only get 215/45 17's (instead of 40 series), so our ride height was a tad low in the front for this profile (measured about an extra 15mm in diameter), so rubbed on hard cornering.
When I say hard cornering, you can see from the photo's that one or two wheels in the air was pretty common
Anyway, we have 215/40's on & raised the front 5 mm & no rub
Mind you, that test was the first time the car had ever seen the track, normally we have a little more than 5 weeks to build & test a car!
Thanks for the clarification Guy.
I mainly asked because I'm about the drop some dollars for the same wheels and am waiting on my H&R coilovers to arrive from the UK
