Put bluntly - a "spacer" or any device that vents part or all of the air around a DV seat will:

    1: Lose Power
2: Reduce driveability (especially with a DSG car)

It might sound "cool" and sound "faster" but believe me, it's not. I think we have removed 3 or 4 this year for customers & it's only March!

Sorry mate, I can remove it if you want.

Fabia vRS running jabbasport tune (from memory) along with pace products intercooler an radiator, ITG intake. Leaked boost through adaptor. Continuous replacement of springs, yellow, blue, orange etc to no avail.

Another Fabia running a similar setup, Revo tune I think it was. Same issue.

Forge refused to accept the blame, I think at one point on car 1 they might have blamed the tune ala VGA.

To be honest, the best person to ask for advice on this would be Guy. It's his company's tune and I'm sure I've seen him post up before the implications of installing one of these.

Honestly, if you want to hear boost dump etc, get a Viezu intake. As fastlane will attest to, you hear the supercharger spool better, more turbo hiss and the boost dumps too. I'll try and get a video up s'arvo.

Thanks @gavs and @guy for the imput.

Do the full BOV conversion that Forge sell suffer the same issues as the spacer (boost leak etc)?

@gavs are you running the Viezu intake? Would love to hear it.

Don't know about the full conversion, but we do know that VW use a plastic piston that is electronically operated - for the fastest & most accurate response.

The problem with piston types (and vac operated versions) is the response is slower (an alloy piston requires more inertia to shift) and the DSG box is looking for a millisecond response.

When you get a delay in that area, your shift suffers. Thats why they dropped Vac operated ones when the DSG was introduced.

Believe me, VW have spent a fortune devising this DV, I don't think any CNC'd item is going to come close to matching what they have. I have actually never heard of one of the new 1.4 versions ever failing either!
