    Anti drain back valve

Do oem oil filters have a anti drain back valve ? Looking at the aftermarket ones at work I can’t see one . Normally the Nippon max ones / wesfil have a visable drain back valve

    Yes, they do.

However I'd still stick with an OEM filter.

its just ryco offer two versions of a z781 (one that has a visible anti drain back seal) and one that looks like the nippon max and oem style and i spoke to ryco tech and he said the ryco one that looks like the oem style dosen't have a antidrain back.Id rather run a filter with a antidrain back.

Personally i wouldnt buy a Ryco/Repco filter. Get genuine or MANN filter and you will be good to go.

Im not sure what model your Polo (6R or 6C or what engine you have) is, so i just used a 2015 GTI Polo to filter on this website where i have purchased from before and there are 2x options: Oil Filter W712/94 | Run Auto Parts and Oil Filter V10-2102 Run Auto Parts

car is a 6c cambelt not timing chain. 1.2. on startup in the morning or after sits all day at work it has a tick for a couple of seconds on startup. Volkswagen assure me it is normal. owners manual says it normal to be noisy on startup after leaving overnight/ period of time.It annoys me.My background as a mechanic is on jap imports gtr/honda type r etc and they dont do that. my brain says no anti drain back valve in oem is allowing oil to drain out .

Run a 502/505-spec 5W40 and see how you go.
