Another bluetooth question/thread
So picked up the Polo 77TSI (MY12) last night, now this was the first one the dealer had received as MY12 and wasn't 100% sure if it had BT from factory or not.
I wasn't too bothered to be honest.
So we jumped in and found the menu option in the RCD 310 for BT and turned it on, sure enough my phone could see the car, named "VW40" however when trying to pair we got nowhere. The dealer mentioned it normally shows up as "VW Phone".
Now he grabbed one of the more 'techy' guys at the dealership who said "they may have installed some of the hardware but unless you pay for the other BT modules it wont work".
Any thoughts/opinions on this one? Is it as easy as a VCDS change I could potentially do myself without any further hardware? I'm not bothered about calling capability only streaming.
Thanks!

Most likely thay have neglected to install the correct software at the dealership. Problem is that if you speak to the service manager at said dealership, you will likely hit a brick wall. Take it to another dealership, get them to run a full diagnostics check. That's how I found mine had the wrong software installed for all the HVAC and interior functions which resulted in mental climate control.

Thanks for the info gavs I was hoping it was just software. I have a feeling my dealer might try to 'sell' me bluetooth if I take it back there to enquire.
Any recommendations? Barloworld on Nepean hwy is next nearest to me.

Thanks, will 'attempt' to explain to my dealer that the BT is in the car and its purely software, if thats fails Burwin will be getting a call. I'll post how it goes for future ppl.
