So I ordered some really nice RS style rims from states in gloss black and gold/black trim 17x8.5j ET30 which is pretty aggressive as I had seen them fit fine on a polo only to forget that my Polo GTi has Golf GTi sized calipers on the front wheels and there is not enough back clearance to fit them which is quite upsetting.

I suspect I am going to need around 8mm-10mm additional clearance on the front to fit these. So far the plan is lowering the car as much as possible tomorrow to camber slightly and then find some 8 or 10mm hub centric/wheel centric spacers and try and get these ****ers under the guard or at least close as possible. If I have to use a 10mm spacer these wheels essentially become ET20 :| I don't even know if it's doable without bags.

Any words of advice or recommendations to get this done?

You will be fine though with those wheels, I have seen them on a bunch of polos in ET35 low as hell with no problems. I was actually going to get these wheels myself in matte black on candy white prior to finding some other wheels (which funnily enough don't fit) with a ET35 Front, ET25 rear staggered setup. Slightly risky but I have seen ET35 all around on 215's up close on @spares ride above and he plans for 10mm spacers at the back which look like it wont' have any problems. Put some pics up when they are on.
Thank you for the info! I'll gladly post some pictures when they are fitted! This bloody winter wont pass fast enough tho!

Nice nice. I just got mine slammed yesterday with H&R super lows all the way down. 40mm on front and 70mm on the rear, pretty ace.

The back is real low hahahahaha. Very close to hit but safe for now.

Average pic but quick snap, on the stock 17's for now. See plenty of clearance I would go lower if I could

I got wheels on yesterday, fronts are running at ET18 with spacers, back ET20. Need at least 3-4 degrees camber to get it to work, unsure. Intense stance. hahahah.
