    Informative post.

Tyre size: 215 for all of the following.

    Subtle fitment.
    17-18x8+40-45

    Slightly aggressive
    17-18x8-8.5+35

    Super aggressive.
Front - Yet to establish exactly.
    Rear - 17-18x9.5-10+25

I've run pretty much all these on my polo in the last week.
Please keep in mind that I have non standard struts. Subtle and slightly aggressive fitments wont matter. Super aggressive I have about 5mm clearance to the inside and it pokes.

I haven't fit a 10" yet. Still looking for a set of wheels that'll be suitable, but looking at the wheel/measuring it out. They'll fit.

    Reading this thread was frustrating.

yes, but he quoted offset as et35 (as are my 8s) and I'm assuming he'd actually want the correct size tyre for a 8.5" rim i.e. 235-245

Those sizes are highly unlikely to eventuate given the extra poke and probable lowering of the car. Just won't work. A little stretch will be required to minimise any obvious rubbing issues. 215-225 will be a better option.

Was thinking of running 215 so a bit of stretch.

8.5J is the widest wheel a 215/40 R17 or 215/35 R18 tyre is permitted to be fitted on.

You can fit a 215 on a 10 if you're not worried about police attention, then again, if you're running a 10 you're past that.
