if you can find boas somewhere, they're damn easy to clean. clear coat makes them super smooth. get them opti-coated and they'd only need hosing off.... and 5 spokes helps.....
Yeah I know the difference a smooth flat surface makes – the wheels on my Megane are super easy to clean. The black is enamel and the face is machined, much like VW's Detroit wheels.

I'm in no hurry to part with my boavistas (in boxes as we speak) however if the right buyer comes by (Sydney Metro preferable for pickup) I have a set I'm willing to part with for the correct price (don't pm me with silly offers especially if you know what they are worth).
im in the same boat. ill be upgrading wheels soon, and would sell my boavistas for the right price. heaps of tread and not a single mark.
When I get some time I'll snap some photos and start a topic in the FS thread.
what is this "clean" of which you speak ;)
All it takes is someone to mention them and they come out of the woodwork.... like I say, i paid $600 for my bare boa's but they were mint..... i think i got a good deal if i am honest, because as you say, they're not that common in the 2nd hand market.
Really nice looking wheel for OEM.
One thing i noticed though was given their extra weight, you do notice acceleration drop a little.
