add more hp to your my15 polo gti 1.8T

i am not sure if this has been discussed before.

i just read from hg motorsport site that bullx exhaust+ intercooler+ intake will add more +35hp at the wheel without ecu modifiction. It sounds very good power upgrade while it still ran by stock ecu.

    is this true?

Based off past experience I don't believe it, but I have nothing to base it on so am intruiged to see what the outcome is.

Exhaust's (and exhaust shops have told me this directly) in these cars add virtually no power, it's purely for the sound and aesthetics, and the intake is much the same, it's done purely for the induction note more than anything.

So now it just comes down to Intercooler and whether it can give you over 30hp or not.
Without a tune, my guess is the Intercooler will do a great job if retaining stock figures for longer (especially during hard spirited runs and on hot days) but wouldn't so much give you extra power.

Again though, I know nothing about HG Motorsport so would be interested for someone to get the work done and get it dyno'd!

indeed its hard to believe, extra 26kw atw is very good enough for simple work

Not confirming or denying as I'm sceptical as well, but they actually claim "dyno tested" results for the intake and exhaust separately in their YouTube videos. Intake being +18hp and +20.9nm. Exhaust being +13hp and +18.2nm. Both on stock ecu. I'd be just as impressed as the next guy.

I took the plunge & purchased the intake...
I'd only done 50KM's so I can't tell, seat of my pants, if any increase in power.
Have a SuperSprint cat-back on order & 'may' get the HG MS down pipe or go custom.
I'm sceptical a DP can go on without it throwing a code but I'm basing that on other VW's.
My concern over a 'tune' is my 6C GTI is DSG & I'm concerned it won't handle anymore torque.
    Happy to be informed

With regards to HG MS the transaction was faultless & arrived inside 7 days from ordering.
I didn't install myself as it was in to be lowered @ the same time as it arrived so killed 2 birds...

Get a DSG tune so it can take the torque. Many people on this forum with 6R GTIs have DSG tunes + ECU tunes.

Would certainly look at a DSG tune if/when an ECU tune becomes available & I go down that track. I'm not sure how a DSG tune will improve the gearboxes ability to take more torque though? Didn't VW reduce torque in DSG below manual? Surely they could have 'tweeked' it, I f it was possible. I just don't want to tear the box apart in the pursuit of power.

Even if I didn't get an ECU tune I may consider a DSG tune so S mode is usable.

DSG tunes increase the clamping force of the clutches, allowing them to handle more torque without slipping. The tunes also provide much improved gear selection and from what I hear are more driveable than the stock set-up.

just take it to dyno without ecu tune. I want to see if in fact their mod packages will improve hp.
