    9w7 installation

    hey,

I've recently purchased a 9w7 bluetooth kit and I have a 2010 polo 77tsi with an RCD-510 head-unit. I really dont feel like installing it myself although I've read its pretty simple.

so pretty much just wanted to know if anyone could recommend a volkswagen specialist in melbourne who isn't incredibly expensive and is reliable?

    thanks

Try Volkspower in Burwood. I recently installed the 9W7 unit (from bluewagen) in a 77tsi with RCD-510 and they quoted $40 just for the bluetooth coding.

The actual install wasn't too difficult but I wasted a lot of time not having done it before - all up I think it took around 2 hours.

That's pretty good price, but I don't really want to install it myself. Mainly because I'm lazy.

I paid a car audio store $150 to install my 9w7. Saved me a lot of grief.

They said it was plug n play - no coding needed. Indeed, everything works fine, except the phone book is garbled when downloaded.

    What did proper coding help?

I was going to recommend them, only if the owner had learnt some manners recently.

YES!!!! I have rung them a few times and found them nothing but rude on the phone (and it was only asking if they had certain parts in stock, not like i was trying to suck information out of them)

Anyway.. Endeavour Hills... Simple.. Purely Prestige Automotive in Narre (Vesper Drive)... 03 9704 5555

I had my Polo there this morning actually to have the wheel bearings replaced. I'm sure they would help you out! Give them a shot.

If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

Can I hi-jack this thread quickly just to ask does anyone have climate control on their Polo and have a RCD510 which displays the climate controls on screen?

I just upgraded to the RCD510 and thought I would be able to see the climate display but can't get it working... not sure if it's actually specd.

Hahah.. hijacked is right, not even remotely related is it , but i have a 5/2011 comfortline with factory RCD510 and the electronic climate control and it doesnt display on the RCD510.. guess it was never planned / implemented.
