9W7 Bluetooth Plug & Play

I got a response from an eBay seller who claims the 9W7 will work plug and play with the MFD on the GTi with the RCD310. Was wondering if anyone with the RNS510 plus 9W7 can confirm:

1. Phone menu appears automatically on the MFD; and
2. Buttons on the steering can control it (ie. setup, scroll address book and dial).

I should buy the RNS510 but I spend more time on the phone and don't really need Navi. Most importantly, I will have the climate control in a different colour .

I can unconfirm that. It needs to be coded with VCDS to get the Phone menu on the MFD.
