Fabia vRS? same engine & chassis as the Pogo GTI for less money.
First 2 mods for the 77tsi would be Koni Yellows & a remap
Hi,
So Im looking at buying my first VW in the near future and am looking at the MY13 77TSi Polo (I want the GTi but dont think the other half is wanting to stretch the budget that far).
My question is, Im not the kind of person the leave a car standard and im selling my play car to help fund the new daily so where can I get basic bolt on performance parts for this car such as intake, engine mounts, suspension? Everything I can find online is for the GTi. Can parts for the GTi be used on the 77TSi?
I know warranty is affected by adding this parts but if needed I can swap back to stock parts.
Thanks
Blake

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
None of the GTI parts will work performance wise as engine is completely different. Maybe intake but I don't no if the 77 intake is similar to the GTI. Suspension will fit but you will need to check front axle weight as there are different types. Other bits will fit but there purely cosmetic.
As for the fabia. It's not much cheaper and I herd the chassis was based on a older model(some one quote me if I'm wrong)
And the interior is bland and lifeless, build quality is worse inside and I'm pretty sure the standard options are less.
Remember that. Polo 77tsi plus comfort pack and sports pack are nearly the cost of a GTI. That's why I just spent the extra. You may not want those two packs but something to think about.
Hi blake
im gonna save Gavs the effort cause im sure he will post the same thing.
i suggest you take a look at the stickyed post at the top of this polo section of the forum. Gavs has put together a good selection of pages including aftermarket parts.
as far as performance parts, there isn't really a market for the TSI engine. the most you can really do is get a K&N pod filter and the DNA ECU tune to bump the power up
Hope this helps
Yard price for the rs fabia is 27900 plus on roads. I got an ex demo with just 3500 kms on the clock for just 25600 drive away. Same dealer was selling the polo gti for 33990 - big difference.
Find your local dealer and you might geta bargain.
The chassis is from an older model. One whole year older. Big fat hairy deal. I challenge any normal person to tell the difference under anything but the most challenging conditions.
The interior is definitely less plush than the polo, but the odd Bluetooth module hanging off the Polo's dash ruins the look. Build quality was perfect. Haven't found anything to quibble over at all.
Seats hug you nicely and only a fraction less plush than the polo.
Standard options? Not sure if that is what you meant but the Skoda has everything. Excellent Bluetooth integration mp3 aux hill start assist cruise climate control stainless steel sills multi function display centre console folding arm rests so many things I can't remember them all.
And it drives like a demon or a damsel depending on your mood. Not the car for everyone but we love ours

Blake I've had my 77TSI for 2 weeks now and am in a similar boat to you. Got it with Sport and Comfort Pack for $20k so was pretty chuffed.
I'm lining up a tune through John from DNA and will probably put a new air filter on and and exhaust. Not trying to make it into a GTI, but there is a little more potential there than VW let us get at. Other than that a few little visual things I might try out but basically just going to enjoy what is a great little car. The 6 speed manual is great fun and you find yourself putting your license at risk too easily so don't worry about not being as fast as a GTI.
Or you can go crazy and chase every KW there is.
Thanks for the replys.
I have slowly been looking through the sticky threads and there is so much information in there.
We are test driving the TSi and a GTi today so I'll see what the prices are like as we wanted to go with the Sportspack if we went the TSi. If the price is not much less then the GTi or they can do us a good deal we'll go the GTi.
I would prefer the polo over the fabia as im not a huge fan of the body.
In the near future i will mainly be wanting to do intake, exhaust and suspension mods to get it sounding nice and handling better.
