(the rattling sound was very obvious before fitting the clip and drove me mad - sounded like the car was pinging).
    Yea, I'm positive.

It comes from the rear of the car and is a different sounding rattle.

Hey Lucus_R do you have any more details where you can get this metal clip for the wastegate?

I saw a YouTube video once, explaining what you are talking about but from what I gathered it was just improvised using whatever he had around the house. I didn't think there was a specific one people were buying...

Apart from forum chit chat, this is the only info with pics and a part number i could find on this wastegate clip for the 1.2T engine: Skoda Fabia in Israel: Wastegate actuator fix

Its different to the one i fitted to my Golf GTI recently (different part no and different shape etc), but they both do the same job.

Yep thats not the wastegate rattle. Is your exhaust hitting/rubbing on anything under the car? Have you had your resonator removed (which i know alot of you Polo owners do for some extra noise)?

Thats an unusual noise you've got there. Bit hard to offer any other advice without seeing/hearing in person.

Faultless here too (with the exception of a broken mirror adjustment knob. The knob actually broke off, presumably I knocked it at some point)

Yeah Lucas that has allready been done to my car as part of the 24v9 service campaign (turbo shim + ECU update). It still rattles after this has been put in. Less I may add but rattles regardless. What is the clip you have on yours? Any pictures?

The one I saw on YouTube was like a thick hair clip thing that goes over the joint where the flap for the wastegate and the rod join. Is this the same as yours?

Doesn't hit on anything, doesn't move, just rattles.

My Muffler and Resinator is intact. I'm looking at getting the rear muffler removed in hope that it'll get rid of the rattle all together and sound nicer.

Hard to tell clearly from the video, but the sound certainly seems to be coming from the exhaust - so the logical thing to do would be to bang on any mufflers/resonators/cat convertors and see if you can replicate the noise. If any of the baffles in the mufflers have come apart, or the cat convertor has failed, then you may be able to replicate the noise by tapping on them. Worth a try anyway.

Another thing to check is the sleeve clamp that connects the front half and rear half of the exhaust together. If this is loose or not connected properly then it could be rattling too.

77 TSI manual. Best car I have ever owned. Torquey, comfortable, turns well. 3yrs old - faultless

Small mod, 2" piece of wetsuit rubber on side of centre console so it doesn't bang my left leg
Replace driver mirror with flat glass much more accurate vision

Worst thing thing - terrible reverse light, even with LED upgrade, 1 light is just not enuf
