6R Polo stereo install - where to run zero gauge?

    Hey all,

As per thread title, I'm beefing up the install in the back of my polo in anticipation of an SPL comp next weekend.

The only speedhump I've found, is finding a place to run my zero gauge to the amp. I currently have 8 gauge through a grommet that was already in the firewall, just below the windscreen on the passenger side. I highly doubt I'll fit the bigger stuff through there.

We've come up with the solution of popping out a floor plug and going in through there for the day, but obviously this doesn't let me run around daily with comp quality doof doof. Can anybody help me avoid drilling my firewall?

I'm guessing your bat is under the bonnet? You could look at going with the bat in the boot under the spare like the GTI and running a space saver (Providing you have not filled the space with audio gear). Then there's no need to run cable through the firewall.

Just a quick update - only registered 134.5 dB on the meter, but still quite stoked.

Ended up running with 4 Gauge from the bonnet, and on 400 wrms too!

Will be tuning the design a little further, working out the resonance of the vehicle and such - quite keen to find out what i can get from 400 watts haha...
