Hi Guys
My GTI has 4600km on the clock. The super charger is not engaging. There is no low down power at all. There are no fault codes showing on the vag com. Any ideas as to what might have gone wrong.

Why do i have a weird feeling that the polo GTI's engine is the same of the Golf TSI that had an engine "Service Campaign" but really it's just a hidden term for "Recall"? especially the 1.4 Golf TSI :/
If i'm correct Polo 6R GTI owners have the right to voice frustration to VW about this.
yeah it is the same engine.
Ive had a supercharger clutch fail, which is part of the water pump. Exact same symptoms except a code was logged.
That is ridiculous, that and making the Stud pattern of the Polo's 5x100 when most wheels use a 5x112.
Hopefully this doesn't become a more broader problem for other GTI users :/
The lag off the line would be a dead giveaway. These things pull right from the get go (in Manual or sport anyway) and if it's just pottering along until the turbo kicks in, you will know about it.
Bring up the recall issue with your delaership, they will undoubtedly try to tell you it's a different engine to the golf 118 tsi, don't buy it, they are identical. Enquire as to why this is a know issue that has not been fixed on your car, see what answer you get

I think there are some bitter people in here who seem to be spewing off stuff without knowing what they're talking about.
The "24S4 dealer service campaign" had nothing to do with the supercharger or waterpump. It was a software update to adjust the knock sensors operation. It was done for all 118TSI Golf's released up until a certain manufacturing date, and then no longer performed as the cars manufactured now already have the "software update".
Why someone would even bring that up when the OP is stating that he feels the supercharger is not engaging is beyond me.
To RSA6RGTI, I suggest you do in fact talk to your dealer, but if you actually want to get your problem resolved and not get side tracked on pointless arguing about something which has nothing to do with the problem you have, just tell them about the problem your experiencing. Don't start the conversation with "people on an internet forum said I should be complaining about the 24S4 recall and why it wasn't done on my Polo". I guarantee the service dept will have stopped listening to you by the time you say "internet forum"
Very interesting Guy, would this fall inline with a 118TSI engine update also? This could be the answer to the mystery that is coming from people (especially in the UK) being told they have the "new" 1.4 twincharged engine.
I've read through the service manuals a fair bit but they haven't made reference to the engine being different (Still the CAVE engine code) to the Golf, Sharan, passat, Tiguan etc other than the intercooler and some of the forced induction piping.
This isn't speaking much about VAG's updates though if they're having the same issues (worse if you consider the slipping noise on the spercharger clutch arriving earlier!) as the last version of the engine.....
