I do believe its the same unit. Just get the manual = better gearbox and 70nm more torque.
Pretty much the question is in the title
Just wondering if they still use the fragile fry clutch dq200, pretty disappointing if they still did :/
Was under the impression it was a newer 7 speed wet clutch?

Too late haha, 1 month and 6000 km into ownership (an interstate drive helped there)
Will just have to work around it
Yep they still use the same DQ200 dry-clutch seven-speed DSG as before. The six- and seven-speed wet-clutch DSGs (DQ250 and DQ500, respectively) are physically too large and/or heavy for small applications such as the A05 platform cars, which is what the Polo is.

Its interesting that the DSG gearbox in the 6C exhibits a bunch of thumps and bangs that it doesnt do in the 6R. I even experienced them in a brand new 6C with <400km on the clock, yet in 27k kms my 6R never made those noises. Im guessing if they're the same 'box that its either sw related (and a simple fix) or has some kind of different mounting that transfers the violence to the body of the car.
Has anyone had a clutch problem in a 6C yet? My 6R was constantly suffering from slipping clutches which VW would reset (wasting my time to drop the car to the dealer and pick it up) and it would be ok for a while and then go back to its old ways. Even after a replacement of clutches it still needed this doing way too often for my liking. Ive heard tell that Ford have a similar issue with their similar boxes and that they have a queue of cars at every dealer to reflash each day. Sounds worse than the VW version if that is the case.
