Hi Nuggos,
I was going to wrap the roof in high gloss black (as I have the sunroof option) today. However we encountered a large obstacle.
The antenna thing on the roof of the Polo 6R cannot be removed as it is 'socketed' in(this was the term he was using).
If I were to remove it, it'd probably cost more than the roof being wrapped + rattles would most likely occur afterwards.
The guy tried 2 attempts today:
1st being cutting a hole and stretching the film to accommodate the large antenna.
2nd being covering the antenna with that one piece of film.
3rd getting quotes for a painted roof.
The first two options obviously didn't work. We spent 4 hours and nothing eventuated from it.
I highly doubt I will go for the 3rd option. Way too much hassle/money.
Unless you have found a way to remove the antenna from the roof to make it a flat surface, your wrap guy will probably give up on the 3rd attempt.
It doesnt look that badbut id say with just the bonnet it might look a bit S*%t

i got my badges done, lip spoiler and mirrors, i like it because it's a change to the car and when you get over it just remove it. (thats my theory.)
but next time i do not think i would get the side mirrors done and now the one side dose not fit 100% which bugs the **** out of me. its like 90 % ok.

bbui, I got my roof done no issues. The wrap guys, Carx, did the whole roof (with sunroof) in one piece, cut out for the MY12.5 antenna, then added tiny vinyl stripes to go around the antenna. Barely noticable and cost me $150ish from memory.
Need a new wrap guy maybe...
The antenna must be removed in order to achieve an acceptable finish.
Here is a 6R with the painted section of the roof wrapped in gloss black vinyl wrap:
The car had a sunroof and a painted section for the roof. The high-gloss piano black wrap made it all blend in.
