Just out of curiousity, how much weight would you be pulling with your Polo?
Interested in something like this myself.
Thanks

Hi,
Just installed a haynes and reece towbar and westfalia universal kit 321 600 300 153 in my 2016 polo. Can't get VCDS to talk to the trailer module.
I'm almost certain the can line is hooked up right its green/org and brown/org the connector in the bcm closest to the driverside door pin 46 and 47. There is ~60ohm across the two and if i leave it unplugged the instrument cluster gets no signal. I have 2 power lines active on the module. Ignition and constant.Code:Friday,28,October,2016,13:33:08:01023 VCDS -- Windows Based VAG/VAS Emulator Running on Windows 10 x64 VCDS Version: 16.8.1.1 (x64) Data version: 20160902 DS256 www.Ross-Tech.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chassis Type: 6R (6C0) Scan: 01 03 08 09 15 17 19 44 5F 69 VIN: Mileage: 11480km-7133miles 01-Engine -- Status: OK 0000 03-ABS Brakes -- Status: OK 0000 08-Auto HVAC -- Status: OK 0000 09-Cent. Had anyone done a trailer module on this years model?? Do I need to do anything other than add 69 to the gateway installation list?
Thanks

I'm going to tow a around 200kg camper next month with it. Manual says max tow weight is 500kg. The ball weight is quite low though from what I remember.
Ok so finally I have a working trailer module. Turns out EVTowbars (Westfalia Australia) sent me the wrong one. It took 2 and a half months for them to get the correct one to my door. I'm a pretty patient person but after they sent me an invoice for the replacement kit I was pretty pissed. Sorted now.
On the plus side the kit from them is $250 plus $20 shipping. Still a lot of money to just tell the ECU I have a trailer on.
I ended up using 4 relays for my holiday and they worked fine. The car towed like a small car tows. The only problem being with new cars being geared so high take off is annoying. Burnt some clutch going up a dirt hill.
As far as the Hayman Reese Towbar goes I can recommend it and the company. Everything is included with the kit. They even include a plug, wiring harness to goto the front of the car and fuse which I used for my temporary relay setup.
You do have to cut the rear bumper but only the underside. You really have to stick your head underneath to see it.
