Not too bad...I got quoted $36806 for a manual, no metallic paint, no tint with both Driver assist and Luxury packages, dealer would not budge. Ironically VW Website quotes $36530 MRDP.

JGolf, did you go interstate or buy in Canberra?

Was at North Shore VW in Sydney last Friday and their Polo GTI price list had the the dealer delivery marked up at $3490
That's a grand over VWA RDP which ain't cheap in the first instance.

Clarification, I don't work for or have any interest in any car company or car dealership, new or used. I do currently work with a number of race teams on suspension, car set up and race strategy plus I carry out team and pit training for several other race teams. None of those teams races or has ever raced a VW, although one does have an Audi R8LMS. None of the teams are sponsored or supported by VW or a VW Dealer. I have previously worked and consulted for Whiteline designing springs, swaybars and alignment products. As well as 4 years in the 90's working for Jaguar, Rover, Land Rover, Range Rover, Peugeot and Honda on new car specification for Australia.

Obviously I'm pretty familiar with the car industry, mostly aftermarket and particularly suspension.

    Back on pricing.

Is $29k drive away for a base manual a good price?

I feel if I wait I may get a demo with lux pack for that money and then again if demand continues my theory might not pan out.

    Opinions?

Hmm I would say unlikely to get demo with lux pack for 29, lots of people would jump on one of those I think?

Have a look at what Golf 103 TSi highlines demo's are selling for - list price is about the same ($35k on road) and they aren't much less than $32k for '14 plated vehicles.
