Just ordered a MY16 manual gti in metallic blue with the DAP for $32k. Will probably be a 4-5 month wait. Can't come quick enough. Also, did anyone else get tint, paint protection or any other optional extra which they highly recommend?

Tint, paint protection, etc is a profit centre for the dealer.

Get the tint done yourself for half the price. Go to Final Detail and get a decent paint correction & sealant done

MY16 Pure White DSG, $31,300 Driveaway. Ordered Sat 5th, picked up last Tuesday 8th.

Sales guy said it was the first MY16 Polo GTI that they have delivered.

For anyone considering MY15(.5) model runout vehicles, take a close look at the new standard features of the MY16 before you make a decision.

For me, it made a big difference. The App-Connect function is brilliant (as far as I have taken it so far) Google maps works great through GTI Media Unit. That function plus the fact that RVC is now standard meant that I didn't need the DAP, since all that I was interested in from DAP was RVC (essential) and Sat Nav (to a lesser extent)

Also, the Sport Select function makes the GTI a better car, IMHO. Read this to get a good explanation of what it does: 2015 Volkswagen Polo GTI Review | CarAdvice

Now I have had the car a few days I particularly like the way Sport Mode ups the torque of the power steering.

Not needing DAP and being happy with White meant that I could take delivery of a car they had in stock, instead of waiting weeks/months.

All in all, pretty happy so far.

Everyone is different but I didn't like the Sport Select and prefer the suspension setup of the MY15. RVC is not needed in such a small car IMO.

All I like is the App Connect. I took preference to MY15 (late build) and enjoyed the savings to MY16. But if your going brand new and like the extra standard features then its great at no additonal cost.

MY16 White Polo GTI DSG with LUX pack and extended 2 years waranty for $35k. Waived 1k transport fee for getting the car from the east to speed up delivery date. Pick up beginning of november. Hopefully the extended waranty will improves resale value if I do sell within 5 years.

    What do you guys think?

Seems alright especially for Perth.. Which dealer did you buy from ?

$30k drive away for the car with DSG is decent so you basically paid $3k for the LUX pack and $2k for warranty. That's how I would break it down in my eyes..

So the VW debacle didn't steer you away which is good..
