I'm curious to know how the "LED" headlights are set up in the all new 2015 Polo GTI! Just read yesterday that this is the first VW car ever to have LED headlights (the Japanese have been doing it for a few years in favour of the old HID technology).
Are the assemblies a sealed unit with a 'lifetime' bulb or can the bulb be changed out?
Is there a separate LED driver/ballast box or are the electronics built in to the base of the bulb?
Is there an auto levelling system?
Can they possibly be retrofitted OEM to non Lux pack GTI?

Mate that's awesome, thank you! Looks like the LED chips actually emit light to the sides (left and right) and the light is then caught and reflected forward by the silver reflector parts at the back. And there is a little diffuser suspended at the front of the LED module too.
So it's not just a bulb, one would have to swap the whole light cluster out (at the very least) which is usually $1500+ just for parts.... so it makes sense to get the lux pack

Hi guys, any idea if this would fit in terms of fitment and wiring etc in the previous Polo Gti, the 6R?
Does anyone know if ADR's are the same as Xenon's with LED's regarding washers? I've pulled apart two 6R Gti's, with and without Xenon's. There is a fair bit different, not just the headlights themselves and definitely not a plug and play exercise. (it has been discussed in previous threads I believe).
Differences (from memory) include:
Wiring loom plug for headlights,
larger washer bottle with extra pump,
wiring to extra pump (part of the chassis loom)
self leveling sensor on the rear suspension beam,
wiring to that sensor (also part of the chassis loom),
body control module,
ballast (?)
Different from bar with integrated headlight washers.
These would all have to be added if 6C is anything like the 6R.
I'm sure someone like Kufatec will eventually make a wiring kit to make it easier but swapping the LED headlights into 6C or 6R fitted with halogens. Could be more straightforward upgrade for 6R's fitted with Xenon's.

I was thinking the same thing Dino
I have to say driving these against my xenon's in my R..... I dont actually know which are better, the LED are pretty amazing actually and considering you used to pay $3k for xenon's the luxury pack is actually a reasonable deal (dont get me started on the pleather seats though...).
Agreed on all accounts! Looking forward to driving it next week when we pick up the wife's.

I wonder how easily these headlight assemblies would be retrofitted to previous Polos.
Could be a cheaper option than HID retrofits
