Agreed,$1700 is fair with all the goodies but if I only want rear sensors which is a common feature on Comfortline specs then it's not so good for me. I can also see your dilemma in the Luxury Pack offering lots of stuff that you may not need or want. A LED headlight option on its own would be great as would the Adaptive Suspension option not offered in Australia. I think VW should have made the Suspension option as a standard feature

Thanks andrew7 - Proof that it did happen. Looks a bit boring compared to my old one. KW coilovers should help fix that, shopping around now for those in the 'Comfort' version.

Discovered the exhaust is different, pipe from motor runs almost central rather than offset on driver's side so will take some adapting to get my Milltek on. Will try to wait probably 5000ks before I get this done and a tune.

What colour and spec have you ordered?

Good work CarNut I see you got the DAP which seems like the best value option package to go for.

I actually haven't ordered yet, want to drive one first and make sure I'm happy to take the plunge with the DSG box (having come from successive Golf GTI's and R's with the solid 6 spd DSG). If it drives well and I can get good pricing I'll look at a Tornado Red with DAP and tint (got to stop getting white cars and Red looks snazzy ).

We are just about to pull the trigger on this ourselves. A couple dissapointments with the release from out perspective:

No acc with driver assist. Why when it comes on comfortline? Love this feature on my car.

Lack of suspension option. This got rave reviews everywhere. Bit dissapointed never made it to aus.

The luxury pack.... We want the lights (we have a 6r polo now and the lights suck). But the Sunroof is a give or take and the fake leather seats aren't something we wanted... So the lights become a $3,300 option

None are deal breakers just made it not quite as exciting as it could have been.

Here are a couple of shots of a black GTI at my dealer (wont get to drive it till Monday):looks good a real mini Golf GTI, I like the clark seats, there is a nice resting spot for your R foot to the side of the accelerator (not a dead pedal as such but nearly as good as)

Went to Burwin FernTreegully today and had a look and measure of the new GTi. Boot is a lot smaller than the normal Polo because of the battery relocation to the rear. Does anyone know if the removable hatchcover can still store away underneath the boot cover like in the standard Polo? The sales person tried and couldn't get it to fit in the recess. There is a left side dead pedal but no right side pedal, however there is an inclined space to rest the right foot in cruise mode.
No sensors unless specified with the DAP option
The CD player is in the glovebox!
No lumbar adjustment for driver seat, only height, recline but seats are comfy.
Quite impressed, looks like I will have to speak to my bank manager

Have to agree with this. After looking over quite a few again today the blue really stood out as great looking car. We are likely still going to go white, but blue is definitely worth seeing in the flesh.
