Wishful thinking then LOL. The Polo Gti has been out in Europe for a few months and so far there has been no reports of issues, but going from LH to RH drive may have it's inherent set of problems. Anyway, I am going to check it out as soon as I have a free day to see if it is suitable for my requirements.

Well no issues with mine so far after all of 30ks, LOL. Picked it up late today. Hardly any rain in Adelaide for last 4 months and it decides to piss down the day I pick up my new car, same forecast for tomorrow so looks like I fit my cameras etc tomorrow and wait until Saturday before I give it a good run.

No rattles, one of my biggest hates, 'drives' way better in S (DSG) than my old Polo and farts like crazy but scary quiet otherwise. Will wait for a while though before fitting my Milltek exhaust. I don't know what the reviewers were on about knocking the ride quality, it's better than the old (assuming no suspension mods.) Polo.

There is one issue, the Sat Nav will not read the usual version of SD card that VW dishes out for other models. Hope to rectify that with dealer tomorrow.

Congratulations to all who have picked up or are picking up their new cars!
Does the standard Polo GTi come with reversing park sensors or does it have to be optioned with the Driver Assistance Pack before ANY parking sensors are installed? Some reviews say that the rear sensors are standard while another says that it's only when the DA pack option is checked. Also, are there any foot rests at all for the driver? I cant get down to a VW dealer yet so I'm posting these questions.

My 81TSI Comfortline has a footrest for the left foot but not the right foot though. You should have at least that one.

Congrats car nut (pictures or it didn't happened btw!) Would love to here more about your new ride (my dealers car still yet to arrive

As to the 7 speed DSG whilst there have been isolated reports of issues in the MK7 golf the hysteria seems to have died down and perhaps it has been appropriately calibrated/finessed to become a more reliable transmission...(?). There are certainly plenty of peeps with no transmission issues.

Re parking sensors question above, there are NO parking sensors as std unless you take the complete DAP pack (I think this price at $1,700 is very fair with sensors, cam and sat nav). My big issue is wanting to option the LED headlights but not needing/wanting leather/alacantara and Roof- this additional $3,300 pack price stings. I do a lot of country driving and having come from the R will not go back to std halogens...

BTW, the fully loaded price I quoted ($39k) was before corporate/fleet pricing and any other discounts you can wangle our of your trusty dealer, I'd be aiming for 10% off (obviously corporate pricing gets you a fair way there).
