Yes, not the Polo's that were inherently unreliable, its the worst engine gearbox combination in VW history that sullied all VW models (Golf/Polo/Jetta/Beetle) that its presence was graced with ..... twincharge/DSG combination most epic failure in VW history IMO (other than the Phaeton LOL)

This new combo 1.8TSI/manual will be a winner .....

TDI's haven't been ultra reliable either, but the 1.2t is the volume seller and the most reliable, just as well.

Anyone hazard a guess as to when prices/orders will be available in Australia? (before the end of the year?) Just saw that they released the prices in Germany recently:

2015 Volkswagen Polo GTI gets priced in Germany

I'm pretty keen on a White Manual Polo GTI

A fiesta ST is 10% cheaper than a 3 door Polo GTI (from article) in Germany and about 5% cheaper than the RS200 or 208GTO

I'm super keen on a White Manual GTI also.

I'm also keen to see what they consider an 'Option' and what prices we're looking at for things like Xenon lights, DRL's and Nav, although apparently the new GTi comes with Nav from standard.

Would that just be a Tom Tom in a holder and screwed into the console?

    Answering my own post:

Price cut for new Polo GTI - motoring.com.au

$28k drive away it seems, available in April 2015. Sounds good to me.

It doesn't say that.... that's the price before onroads. So still more expensive than a ST,

Ah yes, I think I was a bit too excited and didn't read it carefully... still, price still seems ok to me. The Fiesta ST was pretty nice, but I prefer the 4 doors.

oh, this looks VERY tasty! i must say it'd be in my garage if i had the cash - all the fruit + stage 2 for cruising in what is likely to be VERY rapid comfort, alongside an Akra'd/ KW Clubsport R27 or 200 for when i feel like killing some corners.

this would make a fantastic daily for sure.
