Has anyone been able to get a good drive away price on the base trim manual?

As myself and Gavs have said before, if you purchase a DSG variant (which is retaining the faulty / unreliable DQ200) you may want to frequently visit your local church, synagogue, mosque, temple whilst under your ownership. Caviet Emptor.

It is disappointing that the Driver Assistance Pack costs $1700 which is basically bringing it up to Comfortline specifications with Sat Nav. Basic Golf 90 Comfortline has most of the Pack's features. Not GTi performance but....
One can hope that once the buzz dies down, there may be Specials that throws in the the DA Pack?
Has anyone negotiated a good price for the manual GTi with DA Pack?

If you're not in a rush to purchase a vehicle then I'd highly recommend waiting till Q3 2015 (Between September - December) or first quarter of 2016 (you could snap up some nice savings / deals with 15 plate clearances). As the vehicle has just hit the market, VW can sit back and relax for the next several months.

Quite happy to wait if it saves me $$$. it's only a few months anyway. It also gives time for any production hiccups to be picked up and hopefully resolved. Who knows the Adaptive Suspension Option may then be available which should tone done the harder ride noted by all the reviews

^ VW aren't exactly quick or forthcoming to act on any product hiccups or reliability issues..........take the previous Polo GTI engine and transmission issues for example.
