2015 GTi DSG - Thunk/thump when shifting from 2nd to 3rd

Still getting the run around by VW. So just a post bump to see if anyone else has the problem.

I am still told that it needs a software update to fix it, which has not been developed yet!

What I don't understand and still haven't received a reply to is; if it is a software issue

- Why the fault does not affect all MY15 VW Polo GTI with 7 spd DSG transmission ?
- Why was the fault not evident from when the vehicle was collected from the dealership ?
(why did it take 4 weeks/ 1500kms)

Have you gone to essendon? Did you drive it and show them the thump? Just keep driving it then, **** it totally and give it back under warranty

They did some. Software update on mine, didn't work. Reset didn't work. New Mechatronics and reset worked. Car out of action for nearly 3 weeks

No not yet mate. I have hit a brick wall with VW Australia (so I think when they get the rego, they will give me the same VW story). I have been advised by a couple of well known motoring journos to go to a few independent VW specialists to see if they will put in writing what they think is wrong with it.

Id park the ****er across the driveway of where you bought it on a Saturday telling customers about it in the showroom. I find that tends to get things solved pretty quickly.

My 2015 Polo GTI DSG has the same problem. Took a video of the fault and booked the vehicle in with the dealer. Dealer couldn't fix the problem and they said VWAG replied that they all do this and it is normal.

Driven 2 other GTI's and confirmed that they also have the fault.

Its like hitting your head on a brick wall to get this fixed - all that it requires is a software update for the DSG box and maybe the engine ECU.
Anyone tried flashing with an aftermarket software e.g. to enable launch control on the Polo GTi or plug & play chips? Does this get rid of the problem?
Now that VW is under fire for the illegal software on the diesel engines, now is the time to tackle them on the GTIs!

Good luck with that. The 6R Polo has been out for 6 years now and they still haven't got the DQ200 DSG right and they likely never will.

I also get this problem, It only happens when I put it in Manual Mode tho, Problem or normal occurence?

Unfortunately I have the same issue....
I have a few other annoying problems so I'll roll the dice & discuss them all @ the dealership before I do anymore mod's

Take it back. Took mine back. The clutches may have misaligned and worn unevenly.

Hi All,

I have had a 2015 Polo GTI for about 6 weeks, over the past 2 days the car has developed a thunk/ thump noise when shifting from 2nd into 3rd whilst using paddle shifters or in semi-automatic mode. This noise /(rough change) does not happen in 'D' or 'S' or in any other gear. Car has only done about 1200kms.

Any ideas before I head to VW tomorrow ??????

The aftermarket DSG tune fixes this and all other gearbox issues. Just had it done to mine
