No stick with the 95RON fuel you will end up damaging your motor with low quality fuel it says min 95ron on the cap for a good reason
I am currently using 95 ULP fuel as recommended. Can i use 91 ULP ? This is cheaper obviously, most of my driving is around town, with the odd 1000 km trip. Geriatric driver

If past instances are to go by with recent VW petrol engines, 95RON is barely cutting it.

It's a no from me.
The knock sensors will sense the detonation and retard the timing, richen the mixture & reduce boost, so you'll get worse fuel economy and the cost per kilometre will be higher.
If you want to save a few cents, you might get away with a tank of e10 94RON but again, on a cents per km basis you won't save much.
Personally, in hot climates like yours, I'd run 98ron.
Your best way to save on fuel costs is to drive economically and make sure your tyres are inflated properly - 36-40psi.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
I recently started using 98 ron instead of 95 ron in my 2011 77tsi
Now getting better performance, better economy, covering extra fuel cost
+ used to get small rattle on startup, now gone.
