I recently bought the same car, and I'm in the exact same position as you...
It looks like the MFD only shows the ambient temp, and nothing else whilst driving..... and yep, that sux.
Distance to Empty would be great.
Hi Guys,
Wonder if you can help me. the Missus has a 2014 polo 66 TSI. i cant for the life of me find out how to get to the MFD to see distance till empty and any other options. looking through the owners manual you should be able to scroll through the display either from the controls on the steering wheel (66 TSI doesnt have this) or on the windscreen wiper stick there should be a toggle switch (trip or something) on the windscreen wiper stalk if you move it back it controls the rear wiper and the only toggle is for the timing of the wipers. the left stalk is indicators and cruise control. on the taco screen is a button to reset the trip distance and a button to scroll through time and service i think but nothing else. on the cd player touch screen you can push the "car" button this has a few settings and think blue trainer and avg fuel usage. but no where can i find distance till empty untill you have 80kms of fuel left and it pings and says 80km left then disappears until you either stop and restart the car or get down to 40km then 20km. another thing i can find is the car temperature (engine) just seems so weird that a car from 2014 doesnt have these features or am i missing something?

Its on the end of the r/hand stalk and if you press the either end it scrolls through whats available in the WHITE MFD

My wife has a 2012. I have found the same thing with hers. There’s 2 buttons on the right hand stalk to scroll through the MFD. From what I understand after spending some time reading the manual, is does not show the engine temperature. It will however come up with a warning light or something if the engine does overheat.
The owners manual seems to show info for more than one model so many features are not available on ours.
