    2013 6R Comfortline Polo won't start

I hope starting a new topic is ok, I couldn't find anything relevant when searching previous threads.

So our Polo developed a problem today.

When I try to start the car it doesn't do anything. Common sense would dictate dead battery, but radio and internal lights come on without a problem. What confused me is the clicking and random dash light flashing when you turn on the headlamps and try to start it. Once I also applied the brake and was greeted with a christmas lights display. My gf managed to make a video:

Really stumped, any suggestions or ideas?

It look likes flat battery to me because I have seen them in my wife car and we end up to replace the battery.

Thanks, I'll probably need someone to drop by and check/replace the battery or maybe jump start the car. Can anyone recommend a good mobile mechanic on this forum who has experience with VW's? I'm in Brisbane.

    Thanks, that's a relief!

Did you end up replacing it yourself? Any chance you could share what battery you went for?

Yup, dead battery. Ended up calling mobile battery guy due to urgency and he did the diagnostics and replacement.

Thanks again for the help everyone, this forum is incredible!

Had this happen to me as well recently (dropped cell, 12 volts - no amps). Surprisingly I managed to pick a OEM battery up from VW for $169!!! Pretty good if you ask me
