Question 2011 Polo 6R TSI Comfortline - Car Finish Question

    Hey guys and gals,

I took delivery of my shiny new car last Monday and after a rather exhaustive inspection that night at home I noticed a thin horizontal line approximately 3 feet long from the rear tail light to the back door area. It looks like something has rubbed against the car extremely lightly at some point as the line is where the clear coat is slightly less shiny. During the day and in sunlight it's visible up close but in the showroom it was invisible. I've contacted the dealership (Burwin VW) who have been really good about it so far and have told me to pop by so they can look at it.

What do others think? Anyone had this issue or any similar problems?

    Thanks!

nope, just some tools with shopping carts banging your car or open their doors against yours
    POLO 77TSI DSG 5D - MY11 - REFLEX SILVER - COMFORT PACK
    Engine - K&N Air Filter (e-2997)
    AV - Rockford Fosgate T1652-S , T1652 and P3L-S12 Sub. Alpine MRP-F600 and Alpine MRP-M500, Dynamat

much as we all like to keep our cars in showroom condition, someone out there will inevitably rub against your car, open their door into yours or bump it while parking. i'd say not to be too worried bout it mate. you're gonna get more of those scratches in time. best thing you can do now is to get some polish on it. not only will it slightly remove the scratch, it'll make your car look sexy.... till it rains.

No problem for me when i picked up the car, however if your like me get your car treated once a year by the pros ($650) i got a stage 2 paint correction and a layer of opti coat (harder than clear coat 9h diamond strength after curing) after getting my car last week it looks even better than from the day i picked up from the dealer.

    Hope all gets sorted out.

i got my car back in may......

it was an ex demo so i didnt expect it to be perfect.......but on the passenger side rear door you can clearly see where there has been some paint damage done, about the size of an A4 page.........

you can only see it in direct sunlight and the color doesnt match the reflex silver on the rest of the car, on the patched up area its gold/silver color....

Otherwise the paint/clear coat is perfect on the rest of the car
Next: Mk 5 Golf R32 (in blue please)
Now: 2014 Skoda Yeti 90tsi Ambition TECH PACK
    Had: 2012 ABARTH 500 esseesse
    Had:2010 77tsi DSG7, Comfort Pack, Reflex silver

Thank you all for your input.

I'm hoping the dealer can work their magic and remedy the problem tomorrow when I take it to them.

    Update!

Took the car back to the dealer (Burwin VW) and it was fixed perfectly within 30 minutes! (they just gave it a polish I am told). Fantastic outcome. I can not begin to recommend Burwin VW enough.
