Don't worry too much about non-negotiating dealers (bloody greedy cretins). I always go through brokers or places like discountnewcars or fleetsales etc., they seem to get the best prices....and remember....she'll be apples

Ha ha....that's one of the reasons why I chose apples as my username. I love the saying "she'll be apples" and "how do like them apples" so I chose apples.

I actually really liked the salesman at another dealership. In fact, a friend of mine is looking at buying a TDI and told him that she wanted to buy and asked him to look after her. He has already quoted her about $2k cheaper than another dealer.

I'm actually going in to see him on the weekend to amend my contract....it originally stated a 2012 model with delivery in Feb next year. Changing it to August 2011 delivery instead. Woo hoo.

By the way I just remembered that VW Nationally have a deal with most professional associations (I'm a CPA and I have a mate who is a Dentist) and they offer special deals for those guys, always worth asking.

hey Babs, "official" prices for Polo have gone up since last year and demand appears to be huge for limited stock (look at how long we are all waiting). I'm also waiting for a 2011 TSI manual, reflex silver, bluetooth, mats, weather-shields and on-road costs for just under $23K. should be ready within a couple of weeks.
BTW, anyone who's tracking arrivals in Melbourne... Apparently there was a ship docked 21/22nd this month (don't know it's name). Any ideas when those little beasties will be ready for pick-up?

hey Baska i see. still the starting price for sydney polo's would be higher than melbourne's.

anyways my rant is over. haha.

currently ride a 96 dahaitsu charade.. it's been good to me but it's time to move on.

it will definately be the biggest upgrade. from no power steering to power everything

    Hey babs.

I upgraded from a 94 charade. Although it did have power windows and stearing, the jump to the 77TSI Polo was still huge. So many little features they don't advertise and are just standard in the Polo. Absolute quality! Well done on the purchase.
