    17x8.25j et35

Thinking of buying some xxr 527 in the above fitment, just wondering what tyre sizes would be best, and if I will suffer from scrubbing/scraping etc. the car has been lowered 35/50

    Cheers guys

215/40/17 (87w) is about the best size considering you're running those springs. You will have about 3-4mm poke on the rim itself (outside the guard) so there is a possibility you will have minor rubbing on the plastic inner guard mount.

Going to a higher overall diameter tyre in 205/45 or 215/45 will only increase the chances of rubbing on the tyre shoulder. If the car wasn't running that low you could get away with the 205/45.

There is honestly no option other than running the 215/40.

    215/40R17 = Overall Diameter 604mm
    205/45R17 = Overall Diameter 616mm
    215/45R17 = Overall Diameter 624mm

Bridgestone currently have a buy 3 get one for free deal happening at the moment.

    Good luck.

Thanks for your reply bud, really good info!

It seems 215/40s are the way to go the! I don't mind a bit of scrubbing but don't want the bodywork to get damaged!!

To give you a better idea, I'm running 17x9 ET35 215/40 all round which is more poke than you will incur with 8.25 ET35 however I'm probably not as low as you in the front and my tyres are more stretched than what you will get.

Whilst I do get rubbing when rolling through highway dips and over speed humps, it's tolerable for someone as picky as myself. I've got new wheels coming which are 8.5 fronts with ET37 ... this will yield almost the same poke as you (1.2mm more) and I will be running 215/40.
