Hey all,
Just joined (posted in the newbie area already
). In a nutshell, only bought my 09 BMW 125i last september, however I was living in Canberra then and was driving every day. Fast forward to today and im living in Brisbane and only drive my car on the weekend (pub transport during the week). For this reason plus lower insurance cost, lower repayments, lower fuel costs, extra 2 doors etc i've been heavily considering the polo gti as a replacement. I have actually like the car since 2010 but with didn't want to buy one in the early stages of the model lifecycle.
Now im looking at a base MY13.5 Polo GTI no options (well maybe sunroof if the price was right) and trading in my BM for it depending on valuation. My main query is, I don't want to trade down for cost savings and find I end up with way more headaches due to reliability. So i'm looking at the my13.5 as I believe it has the CTHE engine, but obviously i still have DSG concerns.
I've done some forum searching and haven't found many people who have the my13 or 13.5, possible as there may not be that many of them around. But im basically trying to work out if these later models have picked up in the the reliability area?.
I doubt I would keep the vehicle after the 3 year regular warranty period, but I would still be interested in the extended factory warranty cost and conditions (i.e. can it be bought after the sale of the vehicle, and is it a true warranty so everything is covered, none of this no interior trim or bodywork stuff that some of them dont cover.)
Sorry about the long post, but as its my first one I wanted to include as much detail as possible.
Thanks for making it through
Ash
