Paid $24 for a pair of front wiper refills (this is simply the rubber strip that you cut to size) and $21 for the rear wiper (this includes the clip as apparently you cannot use the refill) from VW.

All up $45, which is lower than super cheap which wanted $58 just for the front wipers (although I think this includes the clip and is already cut to size for you).

    Thanks for the help guys.

I would suggest a DIY for the wiper blades. Then you can buy those silicon refills and slide it into the original banana wipers that's OEM on the PoloGTI.

i've used the picturial guide below on my polo

Maybe the text guide will help some as well.

use the PIAA wiper blade refills, they are the industry leader for silicone wipers...the most expensive, but quality stuff

    have fun

    Hi all

With the rear wiper you can pull it apart and just replace the rubber (silcone) part.

It does not look like it comes apart but it does and the rubber bit is the same as any other wiper.

I cannot speak for the front wiper blades but I imagine that they are the same

from VW you get the complete unit with blades thats why they are so expensive..
i replaced all my blades front and back ( was covered under my automotion maintainance plan btw it also covers cltuch for wear and tear i might just give it a try to replace my clutch next year before my plan expires ) my current clutch has 25 000 KM on its a new one as the previous one was covered under warranty.. oil somehow leaked into it...

    Hi All,

I have replaced my two front wipers easily thanks to this guide http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=10687 and am also wanting to replace the rear wiper blade.

I had a quick look at it and it appears to have some tabs on each end that can be removed. Before I start attacking it, is this an easy swap and are there and tricks to follow?

    Cheers,
    cliffo

If they try and seell you complete arms, let them know that it is only the inserts with the plastic end caps.
