TBH Mozzy I have never felt this surging that is mentioned, with a forge dv. It was more of a way to get a little extra power out of the car at the top end but after going phase 2 I don't think I need it. but I thought the valve could help.
not trying to post to off topic either. but not to sound like a complete spanner, but what exactly does the r1 diverter do that the stock diverter doesnt? is it just build quality?

I have never had any of this surging either...I have refitted my Forge Splitter valve, ans adjusted it properly(since I found that I was the problem, not the valve). I have been told that the stock DV is only good for 9PSI of boost. I don't know how true this is, but testing between the stock, Forge, and another brand DV, I have found that the stock one was bleeding off the boost at about 5000RPM.

I have the APR Diverter valve and it doesnt stop the surge..
its the wastegate.. The N75 bleeds to early on.. gotta stop the flow to it..
hence my little contraption... It cant be bad thing as if worst comes to worst, ill leave it completely open as it would be stock..

Yes I do think so I have a general rule of thumb, if I can buy it at Bunnings, it doesn't go near my GTI. My Mk3 is a different issue hehehe.
Mate, not sure what you mean about a boost controller. They are designed for this, I'm talking about something you get from Bunnings as per the original post. I totally agree a boost controller which has an actuator attached to a valve will hold the ball or gate in a desired position, if you have a free handle, its free to do whatever it wants. Do you really want to be driving along and have the valve vibrate open of its own accord?
