im doing a full rebuild same as gavin list apart from water and meth
don't want to know exact amount but parts and labour will be over 10k including turbo, and im getting discounted labour
And for the 1.8T, you can add a stroker kit with compression drop to that list![]()

I always appreciate good advice
Let me clarify. After taking Ant's beast for a spin, I decided that I would love to achieve similar power, it feels great to drive ..but a little more would feel even betterI would venture a guess and say that Ant feels the same ergo why there's a bigger turbo on the way

I can't wait to see the results as it will probably influence my decision between a hybrid ball-bearing and the JBS04.
Only thing is, when you start nearing those power and torque levels, the rods become the weak link. From what's been posted, there seems to be no middle ground between nice bolt-on power and 400Nm+ torque power. If I'm going to be taking the block out, I'd prefer not to to be honest. I'd rather obtain a BJX short/long motor, build it up and switch it out one weekend. Sorry if my talking out loud comes across as s**t-talk. Like I mentioned, I'm just trying to familiarize myself with the limitations of the engine to decide the best course to take.
For the time being, Stage 1 lets call it, I'll be fitting the larger turbo and supporting mods and we'll go from there.
I'd like to get my suspension and LSD sorted before chasing more power than that, as there's no point chasing more power if I can't get it to the ground.
Stage 2's future will be based solely on the performance of Stage 1.
