When was EBD first fitted on polos?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me when Electronic Brake force Distribution was first fitted on Polos? I would like to know if my 2003 9N Club has it and can't find past model specs... Unfortunatelly Redbook doesn't list options accurately for this year as I see alot of things missing (including EBD) that I know the car comes with so the source can't be trusted

The car has ABS... is the EBD integrated? or is it additional equipment?

Maybe an email to VW A to ask for a copy of the spec sheet/confirm against your VIN?

I think I'll have to ring VW A as there doesn't seem to be enough concrete info on line. The linked article is from Aug 2004 which suports Redbook's specks for the MY2004 Polo... maybe 2004 was the first year EBD was included?

OK it seems 2004 was the first year to have EBD installed, but that's not 100% verified...

I rang VW Aust and they proceeded to load up RedBook to get specs of their own cars hahahaha THE SHAME!!!

So I explained that alot of info on RedBook is missing and was told that VW Aust doesn't hold specifications on cars that old... wtf?! 2003 that old?! Do they operate out of a 2 beroom apartament?

So I rang back again with the VIN number and that only came up with ABS.. but the friendly chap wasn't sure if EBD would show up as a separate feature.

Anyway if anyone knows how to physically check if the car has EBD pls let me know.
