    Wheel Alignment

I had a wheel alignment done after my recent suspension upgrades:
    - Front Whiteline Sway
    - Coilovers
    - Rear Control Arm bushes (Whiteline)
    - 312mm front brakes

After having the front left bearings on the top of the suspension tower break soon after the new suspension was installed, I had them replaced and the shop organise the wheel alignment so it was sorted straight away.

The shop had issues with the allignment, the specs were fine on the machine, but then when back on the road, the car is pulling to the left. The gent from the allignment shop said it was an issue with the chassis or subframe, but I had not experienced this previously.

I'm wondering if this has to do with the play that Eddy has found, or if someone can suggest if there is normal adjustment required that this gent may not be aware of as he does not know the Polo?

Any advice or info would be appreciated.

I would recommend you take it elsewhere. The consoles that house the control arms do have ability to be moved slightly as this is for camber adjustment. This is why the hole is bigger than the bolt, which has been mentioned earlier, its designed like this for Camber adjstment which requires special tools but can be done without. Even though the hole is bigger than the bolt ( as its meant to be) when angle torqued it will not move so all adjustments made. If you have had your bushes done its a certainty its out of whack. There would be some mild drift with the road camber but not huge. Audi has exactly the same set up so you can move the entire subframe for the camber so the larger hole is meant to be.

I had an alignment after Jimmy did my bushes, and it pulled slightly to the left.. Was disconcerting for the first couple hundred kms, but I am used to it now.

I checked the alignment data, and it was all correct. The tyre wear appears to be very even across the set, so there def no problems with the alignment.

    Very strange
