Send it back it does nothing to "your" chipped car
Im after any feedback, suggestions or reccommendations.
I have a GTi which has an APR upgrade. On Monday my Seat Intake arrived and I installed the intake as well as cutting of the plastic flap which is meant to defect stones etc.
The first day I thought MAYBE that the mod made a slight difference in how the car revs from 4000rpm +.
By Thursday I thought that maybe I installed the intake incorrectly and hot air was getting in somehow as I believed the car wasnt going as hard as normal. Following this I decided to take the SEAT intake off and return it back to original to see if it was the problem.
After driving it again for the last 1 and a half days I still feel it isnt performing aswell as it normally does. I find it normally impresses me but it hasnt - its quick but not really boosty and quick as normal.
Now I dont know if its my imagination and Im expecting too much or if it really is underperforming.
Also the weather has been really cool so its not the heat that is affecting the performance of the turbo.
Its so frustrating and dissappointing as I dont know if it really is under performing or not.
Your opinions, thoughts etc are highly appreciated.
Colin

Not according to our studies!
Should release around 7kw of power with intake alone. Flow tested.
Have you got an access to VAG-COM?
any other differential diagnosis... divertor valve torn??
06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.
7Kw geez didnt think it would be anywhere near that figure.
I dont have any access to VAG-COM and from what I know the divertor valve isnt torn.

there is a thread around here that has all the figures.our members spent alot of time and effort doing the tests!!! check it out...
sounds to me like you have a small boost leak.probably with the extra kw ,with the chip first, you had loosened a hose or bolt and when you installed the intake that extra was enough to finally open the leak.
check all hoses and clamps.
Insane Kiwi is right ... about 7 Kw. It's a good mod (and this argument has been FINALISED with testing).
Dave
as george says mate it sounds like a boost leak, my mates tx3 turbo was having cut out issues and stuff after he had replaced the turbo and it was just a hose that'd popped off!
triple check all your hose joints mate![]()

Even without chip mine with a seat intake seems more willing to go hard 4500rpm+ according to my buttdyno.
Also could you take a pic of if you could squeeze the intake fully over the stone deflector part. I'm not sure how hard I'm meant to try to get it on.
it never ceases to amaze me on forums how people are so quick to blame software or some latest simple mod for issues.
is it because dealer/mechanics lay blame on the easiest option? scaring a potential customer into buying the next mod from them or them passing their phobia of anti modding onto the customer?
or is it a forum based issue with the op recieving pm's from oposing software sellers quick to blame the opositions software in hope of getting a new sale?
imo, this issue has nothing to do with mods done, its a simple boost leak or maybe turbo bolt loosening as soon a many polo gti's!
ps-I had the same issues with my golf with many blaming software or mods but in the end,it was just a simple boost leak(bloody small one and very hard to find!!)
