You can laugh all you want. I had 136kw at wheels on my slightly heat soaked GTI in summer with Stage 1. The Stage 2 REVO is different from typical APR / GIAC. I don't see why adding more fuel and advancing the timing with higher fuel pressure regulator in winter (much cooler now) cannot get close to 145kw at wheels. 136kw at wheels was Stage 1 REVO, down pipe, Seat intake, K&N in terms of power. Now added 4 bar pressure fuel regulator, turbo TIP, Forge DV with stronger springs, Stage 2, rolling dyno with VAGCOM + cooler weather - I don't see 145kw as impossible.

You don't have to act like a **** to win a prize dude.

Let alone getting close to a VE SS time in that.
    06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

    SS wins.
i don't think you thought this true...
you also have the gearing, the way it puts his power down, amount of grip...etc
does the SS have to power they quoted from factory? more/less?
and last but not least, drivers make the difference.
its not allways just power to weight ratio's irl

i proved this alot of times against cars that could be faster "on paper" :-p

The topic is would a chipped Polo be quicker than a VE SS, and the answer is a definite no. Not even with as many auxillary mods as you want, the little K03s can't push out enough HP to make the Polo a contender.
Previous Rides: Polo GTI, Mx5 10AE, MY05 WRX WRP10, Renault Sport Clio 172
Current Ride: Evo 8 MR, Fabia MK3

That's why I put in my disclaimer on the first line :)

Having said that, my friends mildly tuned VZ SS with an LS1 (with intake, exhaust & tune) felt a lot quicker to drive than my chipped polo. In terms of grip, I would think the RWD commodore with it's wider tyres would be better off.

Not bagging the polo. I love driving mine. It's just not going to keep up with a modern 6.0 litre V8.

I find it an interesting topic.

I don't see why discussing the performance of a car is taboo. If you're not interested tune out.

Also as indicated by some of the responses above, some people have a personal grudge against Petrina due to his participation on a number of forums other than VWW.

My advice: don't take the internet too seriously.
