    Kai, i think the theory is that gasket keeps the inlet manifold from getting hot therefore keep aircooler hence more power etc

    It's an inlet manifold gasket, isolating the manifold from the head and reducing the heat transfer into the inlet charge.

    Have found information from the following website regarding the port size of the 1.8T engines http://www.torquecars.com/volkswagen/vag-1-8-turbo.php

    It says the small port engines start with
    ADR, AMB, AMU, APT, APU, ARG, ATC, ATW, AWP, BEA
    whilst the large port engines start with
    AEB, AGU, AFY

    Some interesting reading for those who are interested.

    I have spoken to the supplier and I will order one from him tomorrow, then get some before and after dyno results. He is also getting together some group buy prices for me as well over the next few days.

    im interested , but i certainly want to see the results first , before i jump on this ban wagon.in theory it works but then again so does comunism.
