I love the start up process.

Open the door - hear a pump (fuel?) - turn ignition to 'on' - hear a pump. Fire her up and you get that beautiful burble. Then the 'rough' idle (extra exhaust valve open?) at 1,000rpm for a minute then it all settles down to 750rpm and you drive off.

Kind of like starting an italian supercar but with nothing like the power or noise for the effort

    - Good fuel consumption.
    - Nicest to drive in it's price-range by a long shot.
    - I think they look fantastic.

I have an Evo IX as well, so I wasn't looking for a handler, but she doesn't disappoint. Quietly impressed. A different sort of handling to what is essentially a tarmac rally car. Very similar to our previous Cooper 'S', but a little faster out of the corner.

I love everything about my GTI from its looks to its handling, finish and quality of the interior and also the under dash shelf is very handy. I was considering buying an xr4 until a friend told me to look at a Polo after driving the Polo the xr4 didn't compare in ergonomics and finish.
