May be up for that one too (if the other half doesn't crack it when the bill for all the current work gets totalled up)

went to the muffler man in prahran. the guy's name is trevor, really good bloke and knows all his stuff inside and out. i was chatting with him and turns out he is good mates with dean at volkspower, he's also worked on another polo before mine. can't fault his work.

My mother previously owned a micra and I'll save my polo brethren from reading pages of diatribe about it, but I will go far as to say that it was hands-down, the WORST modern car i've travelled in/driven. Yes small, cheap, econoboxes can be fun to fling about if you have very littly care for them, that's why rental cars are the most fun cars available to us, but there is no way known that i'll suddenly start doubting my own car because you've 'hassled' greater cars with them (this seems to be about the only argument the two of you present).

Feel free to start your own thread about how great the all and mighty Micra is(and watch it top the charts), but only respond to this if it is in reply to the question - "what did you to your polo today?".
    hahaha.

    1. "bombard" - two posts pertaining to a little light hearted fun i've had in the micra, and why did i post in here? well, i thought the cars would be comparable, at least segment wise - "lesser cars" -looks around- oh... i didnt know we were in a porsche forum - as far as most people are concerned, the polo 9n3 IS A LESSER CAR. we all love our cars to death, but to be elitist... tsk tsk.

    2. "argument" - what argument? there's nothing remotely argumentative about my posts - it's purely anecdotal. apart from my saying that i believe that the micra could carry good mid corner speed, and that it'd keep up if better suspended/tyred, there's NOTHING in my posts to suggest that anyone should be doubting their polos - ryan, many of us have had our polos 3-4 times longer than you've had yours, we know what they're capable of, so i dont understand whilst you're coming across as if ive said something affronting... you certainly appear to be offended.

    3. sneer nosed sarcasm in brackets - nice.

    4. "only respond to this if it is in reply to the question..." - lol.

Boys boys boys...like I said in another thread...its just a forum...everyone's allowed their opinions. LOL. Now you know how I feel eh Scotty?

    Still mates

Anyway, back to the topic of 'What did you do to your Polo today?', sometimes I wish I still had my dear lil Pog. If I did, then in this post I'd be sharing the fact that I'd just got the roof and bonnet wrapped in Carbon vinyl and probably got new wheels for it and probably finally the cat back too (if only wifey didn't complain about the down pipe and then ultimately the car). Was the most 'fun' car I've ever owned until the damn rattling got a bit too much *sigh*

Looking for an excuse to get a Fabia RS now...da Polo's cousin.

i dont know how you feel, dave, because im puzzled as to why the majority of people who are raggin on FK's, dont seem to actually have any experience with them, whilst it seems like the people who have FK's and who are happy with their decision, have to defend themselves against all these allegations that they've purchased a crap product.

and of course we're still mates.

listen, whatever gets said on the forums, it's all just banter that can easily take a downward spiral, but i'll still enjoy coming to meets, shaking peoples hands, and hanging out with fellow dubbers - i am strongly opinionated, like many here, but that DOES NOT mean that a simple forum post is going to change my mindset - that being that everyone i've met so far is cool, and each person is an important part of the community.

if i've offended anyone with my micra anecdotes, i apologise - i just thought, for anyone reading it, that it'd be a more interesting way to waste 2 minutes than reading "well, today, the polo got washed, clayed, sealed, and waxed. oh, and i checked my tyre pressures"...

dave, do you reckon you're going to be looking closely at a Fabia RS when they bring it out?

BECAUSE AFTER DRIVING THE MICRA (lol ryan, just jokes), im thinking that the lighter twincharged engine will make for a well balanced little kart, like the polo gti 6r of course.

next car for me - i had my heart set on a gt up!, but i spent a good amount of time talking to one of australia's best renault salesman when mum went to pick up her megane the other day. he'd just spent 10 days in france with the renault australia contingent (sales director, marketing director etc etc) where they learned that the new clio 4 is going to ONLY be auto/dsg, and 5 door.

he reckons that upon the renault australia team learning that, they immediately recognised the potential market for people who want a small, 2 door manual "warm" hatch, and they're still in the process of building a case, but there IS the potential that in 6-8 months time, if renault australia voice themselves to renault global, we COULD see this within 18 months:

yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes. yes!!!!

Well, the good ol' FK thread is well and truely the past. I guess I was a bit strong on the expression as I've been told but at the end of the day, all I was trying to do was sharing info given to me when I enquired about FK's and no it wasn't about the streetlines. It was the konigsport and highsports and was surprised those dealers said to me what they said so I folded. I don't know maybe i'm weak or just a brand whore. LOL. Likewise, even this is a different thread, I too apologise once again for anyone I've offended. Wasn't my intention. Kinda like the good ol' tuner wars thing of 2010 and 2011. Yes Scotty, we're all opinionated and I second that. Let's just not let forum banter tarnish our fun at meets and those awesome drives. Kinda miss those days mate. Man this is starting to sound like a bit of bromance happening. Ha Ha. Anyway, hows your tooth holding up? Need me to extract it for ya?

yeah man - never any harm done.

as for the tooth - bronny's words, NOT mine: "last night it sounded like you were in a torture chamber".

it's been okay the last few days, though.
