Got a wheel alignment. On one side the Toe was way out after new Seat bushes and coilies. Wanted to wait for it all to settle.

Good news is the rear end is only about 0.3 deg different, so no fiddling with cross members required.

I need a bit of front end respray too - who do you suggest (presumably it's in Canberra)?

I'm going to Edwards Spray North, at Belconnen. Smead got his front end done at another place at Belconnen, but I can't remember the name.

They were exactly the same. That'll teach me to buy parts before actually taking delivery of the car. At least I now have some spares...

I changed over the antenna and installed the dash cubby a few nights ago. No point in pictures as i'm sure everyone here knows what they look like.

I'm currently deciding on a new headunit, pretty much decided on the top JVC one due to the dual USB inputs. That just leaves me now googling up CANBUS and wiring harnesses. Anyone have advice on wether or not I need a CANBUS adaptor? I was presuming this would be all I needed: VW Polo radio stereo wiring harness adapter lead ISO | eBay UK

Is the above one plug and play, so no soldering needed?
2008 Polo GTI, lower honeycomb grills, PD160.

I'd be curious about the calibration of the pump... A manufacturer gains nothing by saying a tank is X size when it can take 10+% more.

It was the first time that I tried the vent button trick - I managed to get about 8 litres of extra fuel in vs my 'normal' fill up point. According to reports on the US sites, this allows about 2 extra gallons of fuel to be added to the fill.

I have been doing this for more than 2 months now. Most I have put in is 53L from as close to empty I could get. Managed to get from Canberra to Melbourne on one tank.
Driving up to Sydney yesterday I was down to 6.3L/100, and after 100km the fuel gauge still hadn't moved, and distance to empty was reading 670km. Have done over 200km on this tank now, and the fuel gauge still hasn't moved off full.

Just thought I would add that I have added over 50L of fuel from multiple petrol stations over nsw, vic, and the act too.

You dont need the Canbus adapter, I was lead to believe that I needed one, so I want out and got one, it has failed on me twice in about 14 months. I have ditched it totally,

You will need the other loom you have the link to, I dont know if it is plug and play, depends on the connections on the headunit you put in
