Watched someone else drive away in it.

That said, the new owners look like they'll take great care of it.

Superchips came round on Tuesday and flashed my Polo. Took about 90mins all up. 1st drive around the block was pretty uninspiring, but then took it for another spin later on that night, and it was much faster.
Very pleased with the results so far.
Drove it back to back with a Golf GTI yesterday and the Polo was faster, but the Golf is still nicer to drive.

    Good stuff though.
Will keep me entertained until I decide to go to the R.

This was my strategy.. I was starting to get a bit bored with the Polo so had it flashed to keep me interested and away from the temptation of buying a new car. It's worked so far. So much more fun to drive now.

Got my new slotted front and rear slotted rotors and remsa pads installed. Also ordered HEL braided lines and MkV Gti ED30 steering wheel and front lower lip for my little donkey (pog).

Is it a requirement to get your car engineered in VIC after doing that? If so, did you do it? And how much did it cost? The reason I ask, is we've been discussing it over in the MK6 forum in the 6 Pot Brake upgrade??? thread

For slotted rotors and brakes pads then definately not but brake lines and calipers? its a debated issue as everyone says differently and no one can seem to make up their bloody minds!!! They say that it needs a certificate when manufactured and installed but was told by the brakes people including racebrakes sydney that most workshops don't give out individual certs. I've also contacted the racebrakes melbourne as the owner claims he's the guy Vicroads go to to get the rules written up for brake mods and said that if he does the install or supply the equipment then you don't need a cert. ??? To make things even more confusing, aparently the Aussie distributor of goodridge lines does have the kit for the polo and specific vehicles but they may be in premade kits from the UK so don't see what's the difference in getting them here or direct from UK as its much much much cheaper there. Hence that's why I'm confused as to what to do. I still need to go and find out how much an engineers cert costs here in VIC so that migh take some time. Anyone know where and who this can be done by?

Lol - Jeez, a wonderfully confused bunch down in VIC! I thought the RTA was bad, but at least everyone knows what's what here! Thanks man, let us know how you go

Got the final word on the legality of braided hoses and it seems that the cheaper brake hoses kits from the UK (yes aparently Goodridge ones also) are non compliant and are made to inferior standards (don't know how this could be? ) hence are not compliant with ADR or vicroads rules and regulations. The ones made in Australia that are legal should have a tag or print on them with a code such as "FMD106SS" or something like that so it should be visible so that if you do get pulled over, they can't defect your car for it without question. So I guess in a nutshell, if we want authroity trouble free braided hoses installed, we're gonna have to pay the MUCH higher price for them here which is about 3-4 times more just for the stinnkin' stamp or tag of approval. Darn it.
Hope this helps answer our questions.
