N249 bypass has made a big difference, the turbo is coming on boost slightly sooner and slightly harder (I'm now hitting the full 21psi of my GIAC everytime I come on boost, where as before peak would hover between 19-21psi and it wasn't consistent which peak i'd get at any given time in any given gear)

Think I'm preferring this too. Makes me think that the boost won't hold on as long as its coming on a little earlier and staying more consistant, so bound to die off earlier... No problems for me, I don't tend to redline it anyway.

Thinking about a full vac deletion and blocking off the startup loop, but unless I can get some code to bypass this, will remain as is.

    Look I have some too
Can you tell me what they are, I have boxter calipers on 312mm disks
Are they 993 ones, look bigger guessing 330mm or something

Oh did you need to space the wheels a little, looks like i need about 1 or 2 mm to space it

Yeah, as much as pulling the rest of the stuff out of there, there just isn't any benefit for the effort of pulling it out.

Also of note, the N249 bypass made a slight difference to the diverter valve noise (I get to hear it nice and loud thanks to my intake setup). It sounds more consistent and meaty, as if more air is getting through it each shift.
Previous Rides: Polo GTI, Mx5 10AE, MY05 WRX WRP10, Renault Sport Clio 172
Current Ride: Evo 8 MR, Fabia MK3

True. As the vac is not electronically controlled, the vac from the manifold is quicker, thus the faster dump and more noise. I can't say I've had any occasion where I thought it was not working well, all good so far...

one of my kits put onto lora's car.

its quite cheap, 312mm disc still used however used a premiumone disc from ate (atom / flower design) and works very well and pulls up very quickly as whove been in my old golf know how quick it stops with the same setup!

good setup and also fits mk5/mk6 but with slightly larger 4 pot calipers from porsche or ferrari or alcon really.. all the same depending what you want.

and stock polo brakes imo are farken terrible. i can not believe how hard you have to put your foot down to stop!

time to do my s3 i think lol

    Hey guys,

Finally had a spare morning and finally changed the oil/filter. Took roughly one hour, could have been shorter but took my time making sure all was done correctly (what a mess taking off the filter). Thanks to those who gave such great instructions from engine oil thread, they were invaluable.

Gave the car a drink of Castrol Edge 5w30, as it was near impossible to to source the "dealer only" Castrol SLX professional III or Mobil 1 ESP. Did track down ESP, but only available in 20L cans @ $380, gave it a miss.

    Laterz.
