What did you do to your Polo today?

I've tried the swaybars in all hard / soft combinations. With my coilovers there is plenty of 'balance' without the rear swaybar...

Sway bars make NO difference to ride comfort in the bound/rebound of a bump, that is all down to the spring and damper rate....




I fitted my R1 valve and gave it a pre-winter wash, polish, wax. mmmmmmm shiny.

I had a crack at polishing up my headlights using regular car polish as per one of the recent 'Mighty Car Mods' videos.

Headlights came up pretty well, except the small section on the outside of each of the lights at the very top corner... for some reason both lights had their biggest scratches there.

I have to go with noone here, I have both Whiteline RSB as well as FSB. I have soft / medium setting. I am thinking of changing it to soft / soft.

Rear sway bar makes the ride more jiggly going over speed bumps especially IF you go two wheels at different times, it's very very uncomfortable. Normal driving on road should not affect it too much. But going in and out of drive ways, very uneven road will make the ride much more firm. I love the handling of soft / med (f & b), but may be I need soft / soft for more comfort.

So yes it does affect the comfort.

As Kiwi said, its when you are going over uneven road, esp at low speed. This gets the swaybars involved too much and can make the ride uncomfortable.

I understand many of you have not and may not experience this, but it depends on the rest of the gear. My AP Coilover setup is stiff from stock, especially in the rear.

All I read there was "waaahh waaaahh wwaaaaaah, I want a sports car but don't like it when it's stiff on the road, wwaaaahhh wwaaaahh wwahhhhh"

My Polo GTI with stock suspension and only 30,000km on the clock is having it's rear suspension replaced by the dealer soon. As someone who lives in Sydney but regularly works in Brisbane, I really don't think many Brisbane drivers truely appreciate at how bad some of the roads in Sydney are. I've had this argument many times with my close Brisbane friends. 1 car trip with me in my local area when they're down to visit is enough to cease all arguments.....

I won't get into the argument about whether what noone is doing is the right way to go about things or not, but I can truly understand why he's doing it.

Checked all the clamps on my TIP and piping today ... was happy that none of them felt loose. Also gave it a wash ... fark it was cold in the wind here, I'll probably end up with a cold, but it looks all nice and tidy again

Fitted some Kumho KU31's today. Was going to go for the KU36 semi-slicks... but just couldn't justify them for daily driving (particularly the sort of km I'm doing now)

So far so good.
